Better late than never! I didn’t get around to posting a weekend recap yesterday, so I’ll just add in yesterday – it was marvelous too!
Saturday night, we went out to dinner at Bravo thanks to a gift card that Adam received from a client. I tend to pick local, new restaurants when we go out to eat, but Bravo was good for a change. I love their rosemary bread and dipping oil!
We also got the spinach dip and brought about half of it home – we decided next time the bread and an appetizer would be plenty to satisfy us.
I ordered the pecan crusted tilapia salad, which ended up being kind of lame – the fish was just a deep fried filet. I chose it because of the boursin cheese, which is one of my favorites.
Adam picked a boring strip steak for his meal. It was still a nice night out together.
Spring has finally arrived in Pittsburgh – it was 30 degrees last Monday when my dad and I went to opening day, but it got up to 73 here yesterday! Sunday’s forecast was a nice one, too, so Adam decided we should take a bike ride – which resulted in a last minute bike purchase from Wal-Mart.
I think I got my last bike when I was about 10 years old, so I was over due for one – it was a $140 bike on sale for around $100, so it wasn’t a bad purchase. As much as I like spin class and was considering a road bike, I think I’ll ride more on trails and around the neighborhood, so we went with a simple mountain bike. Nope, didn’t convince Adam to buy me the helmet!
We completed just over 11 miles Sunday morning! It was a slow pace since I wasn’t feeling too confident, but definitely a fun change to my typically gym workout. Sunday was also Lexi’s first birthday, so we came home and took her to the dog park.
After a trip to the pet store for a mini birthday cake, we came home and relaxed for a while before the season premiere of Mad Men! By 8 o’clock we were antsy for it to start, and ran to get some frozen yogurt to pass the time. This location had some crazy new flavors, like salted caramel and sea salt pretzel, both of which were too sweet for me (gasp). I was actually in the mood for the plain tart flavor but they weren’t offering it.
I chose a small serving of plain chocolate (with chocolate chips, coconut, and caramel) and cake batter with sprinkles and Reeses pieces.
Did anyone else watch the Mad Men premiere? I was kind of underwhelmed, to be honest, but glad to have Don Draper back in our lives living rooms!
Monday morning was my favorite instructors spin class, always the hardest of the week, especially after our ride on Sunday. Burned over 450 calories in 1 hour and then worked the late shift. Lexi and I got out for a 2 mile walk, then I made a new quiche recipe for dinner.
As I type this post, there are two loud mouth turkeys in our backyard gobbling away.
On that random note, have a great Tuesday!
